Refugee
Services of Texas is a refugee resettlement agency providing quality services
to refugees and other displaced populations joining families or starting new
lives in Texas.
Through are affiliations with Church World Service, Lutheran Immigration and
Resettlement Services and Episcopal Migration Ministries we provide services
through the United States Refugee Program.
The five RST offices throughout the state provide resettlement services
and programs designed for the local communities we serve. In addition to our refugee clients we also
serve those who are victims of human trafficking, asylees and other displaced
peoples. Refugee Services of Texas uses a faith based model of resettlement
which uses the many resources of local churches and faith communities to
enhance the resettlement experience. We hope that you use the information

Working in partnership with faith based communities, businesses and volunteers, we provide our clients with resources, referrals, education and guidance to ensure their successful and self-sufficient lives in Texas.
Who is a Refugee?
Under the Immigration
and Nationality Act, any person who is outside any country of such person's
nationality or, in the case of a person having no nationality, is outside any
country in which such person last habitually resided, and who is unable or
unwilling to return to, and is unable or unwilling to avail himself or herself
of the protection of, that country because of persecution or a well-founded
fear of persecution on account of race, religion, nationality, membership in a
particular social group, or political opinion.
